Lakshmi Vara Prasad Kavuru began his career in the energy sector, where he worked extensively in the
construction, erection, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of thermal power plants. He played a key
role in monitoring plant load factor (PLF) and load management from the C&MD’s office and contributed to
fire-fighting tasks, ensuring operational efficiency and safety across the plants.

Moving to the United States, Kavuru managed software projects and gained exposure to the latest
technologies. He worked in multiple roles across various states, including Maryland, Virginia, and
Alabama, exclusively as a subject matter expert (SME) for the SNAP program within state health
departments. His contributions helped streamline operations and improve service delivery.
Social Activities
Kavuru has been deeply involved in numerous charitable and social activities, especially within his
community. As Chairman of the Sarojini Memorial Charitable Trust, he organised health camps in rural
villages, sponsored the construction of lavatories for underprivileged families, and supported the
education of low-income students. He also promoted awareness of breast cancer.
As General Secretary of the ACP Foundation in New Jersey, Kavuru was instrumental in village adoption
projects, spearheaded infrastructure improvements in Srikakulam District, and organized cultural

Kavuru's commitment to social causes extended into the political realm. He contested as a member of the
Legislature Council (MLC) from the Krishna-Guntur Graduates Constituency in 2019. His political work

He was also a director of the Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Council (APEDC), where he prepared
